You will take a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. The trail goes from luscious green forests of rhododendrons, oaks, and junipers to alpine highlands. It goes right through the Sagarmatha National Park. Similarly, you pass by several famous settlements like Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Dingboche, Lobuche, Gorakshep, and more.
While en route, you will also come across ancient monasteries like Tengboche Monastery, valleys, gorges, glaciers (Khumbu Glacier and Lobuche Glacier), and moraines. The trek is filled with adventurous and spectacular views. You can also witness the diverse Himalayan flora and fauna.

Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek Itinerary
Collapse AllYour Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek will begin with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2830 meters). It is a short flight that takes around 30 to 40 minutes. Then, you will land at Tenzing Hillary Airport, one of the world’s most dangerous airports. You will meet with the trekking team and porters there. Then, your trek will begin.
This day’s trek is comparatively easy and takes around 3 hours. You will pass by several charming villages and descend toward the Dudh Khosi River. Then, you will reach Phakding (2610 meters). You will stay overnight at Yeti Moutain Home.
The trek destination for the day is the famous Sherpa settlement, Namche Bazaar (3440 meters). You will walk alongside the Dudh Koshi River bank and cross a few suspension bridges. Among them, you will also cross the famous Hillary Suspension Bridge. You will get the first glimpse at the mountains including Mt. Thamserku (6608 meters).
First, you will come across the Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Permit Checking Counter.
After passing the checkpoint, you will come across the Sagarmatha National Park entrance next. From there onwards, your trek into the luscious forest of rhododendrons and oaks will begin. There is a variety of flora and fauna you will come across while walking through the forests.
Then, you will once again cross several suspension bridges and reach Namche Bazaar. You will be greeted with sights of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, and Nuptse as you get closer. The trek takes around 6 to 7 hours. Your accommodation is arranged at Yeti Moutain Home.
This day is an acclimatization or rest day at Namche Bazaar. You need to prepare your body for higher elevations. So, you will explore around the village. It helps your body adapt to the changes. It is important to stay active.
There are numerous cafes and restaurants in Namche. Similarly, this is the only place where you will find ATMs and banks during the trek. There is also the Sherpa Culture Museum and Sagarmatha National Park Information Center. You can visit these places and enjoy the magnificent mountain views.
After resting for a day at Namche, your next destination is Tengboche (3880 meters). The trail to Tengboche does not require much ascending and descending. It is a winding trail with rugged terrain. As you get closer to Imja River, the trail becomes steady and level. However, you have to climb a big uphill right before you reach Tengboche.
You will witness many stupas, prayer flags, and mani walls in Tengboche. It is home to one of the oldest and religiously significant monasteries, the Tengboche Monastery. You will check into the Revendell Lodge. It’s 5 to 6 hours of trek to reach Tengboche from Namche.
The trail goes into the alpine meadows as you leave Tengboche behind. The trail will lead you to villages like Pangboche, Somare, Orsho, Tsuro Wog, and more before reaching Dingboche (4410 meters). Along the way, you will also cross a long suspension bridge over the Imja River.
You will see numerous mani stones as you get closer to Dingboche. These mani stones are engraved or painted with Buddhist mantras. The village is surrounded by stone walls. The day’s trek duration takes around 5 to 6 hours. The accommodation is at the normal tea house.
You will take another acclimatization day at Dingboche. Since you have to keep your body active, you can choose to explore around the village or take a short hike. There is a Nagkartshang Peak nearby. It stands at an elevation of 5083 meters and offers stunning mountain views.
It takes around 5 hours to hike to Nagkartshang Peak. You can view mountains like Makalu, Ama Dablam, and other Himalayan ranges from the peak. Another alternative to a short hike is Chhukung Ri.
After the rest day, you are prepared to continue your ascend. You will be heading to Lobuche (4910 meters) today. The trek will begin with a gradual ascend while passing by several small villages. The mountains will keep you company the whole trek duration. Similarly, you will pass by massive boulders, yaks, prayer flags, and chortens.
En route, you will pass by an Everest Memorial in Dughla. It was built for those who lost their lives during the Everest Expedition. Then, the trail will come across the stunning Khumbu Glacier. It will take around 6 hours to reach Lobuche from Dingboche. You will rest overnight at a normal tea house.
On this day, we will finally climb to the Everest Base Camp (5364 meters). The entire day’s trek can take around 7 to 8 hours. In addition to the long duration, it will be a challenging climb. You will leave Lobuche through the lateral Khumbu Glacier moraine. Then, you will reach Gorakshep (5165 meters).
From Gorakshep, you will continue with your trek. The path is rocky and it is quite windy as you climb higher. Finally, we will reach the Everest Base Camp. The sense of triumph and achievement is like no other. You can get up close and panoramic view of the world’s highest mountain, Mt. Everest. Likewise, you will also get to witness other surrounding Himalayan peaks. Then, you will descend to Gorakshep. You will again spend a night at a normal teahouse.
Your trek will begin quite early on this day as you head towards Kalapathar. Also known as Black Rock, the Kalapathar View Point offers a majestic, 360-degree view of Mount Everest. You can witness the mountain in all its glory, basking in the morning sunlight. Similarly, you can also witness mountains like Ama Dablam, Nuptse, Taboche, and several others.
After spending some time, you will descend to Gorakshep and then head towards Pheriche (4210 meters). The trail is comfortable and descends gradually. Trekking from Kalapathar to Gorakshep to Pheriche takes around 7 to 8 hours. Your accommodation for the day will be in a tea house.
You will once again head back to Namche Bazaar on this day. It is an easy trek that mostly involves descending. You will descend back to Dughla and follow the Khumbu River. Once again you will pass by the Pangboche. Somare, Orsho, and other small settlements.
Similarly, you will also again pass by Tengboche and descend to Namche Bazaar. Trekking from Pheriche to Namche takes around 6 to 7 hours. You will once again check in at the Yeti Mountain Home.
This is the last of your trek journey. You will leave Nache Bazaar for the last time and start a steep descent. Once again, the trail will pass by several settlements including Phakkding, and through the forests of rhododendrons. Similarly, you will again cross the suspension bridges.
The mountains will get distant as you get closer to Lukla (2860 meters). After trekking for around 7 hours, you will reach Lukla. You will stay overnight at Yeti Mountain Home.
After enjoying the mountain views once last time, it is time to head back to Kathmandu. You will get on an early flight back. You can get the final glimpse of the Everest region’s landscapes, nature, and mountains from the flight. We will provide a farewell dinner and hope to see you soon!
